No. 7 Baseball Tops No. 21 Florida, 5-1, to Claim Fifth-Straight SEC Series

GAINESVILLE – No. 7 Texas A&M secured its fifth consecutive conference series with a 5-1 victory over No. 21 Florida Sunday afternoon from Condron Family Ballpark. The series win marked the first for the Maroon & White against the Gators in a regular season series since 2023 and the first in Gainesville since 2006.
The Aggies (33-8, 14-6) tallied the first runs of the game in the top of the third inning. Gavin Grahovac lined an RBI single to center field, plating Boston Kellner for the Maroon & White's first score. Chris Hacopian brought another run home on a sacrifice fly to put the Aggies up, 2-0.
Jorian Wilson and Bear Harrison led off the fourth inning with consecutive singles. Wilson scored Texas A&M's third run on a wild pitch.
The Gators (29-16, 11-10) tacked on a run in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI single. Wilson matched the score in the sixth inning on a deep solo homer to center field. The Hallettsville, Texas, native's 11th long ball of the year traveled 422 feet and left the bat at 114 miles-per-hour.
Harrison provided the Aggies with an insurance run in the ninth on a 408-foot solo home run to left-center field, securing the final score at 5-1.
Weston Moss worked 4.0 innings as the starter, allowing one run on four hits with a pair of strikeouts. Gavin Lyons (8-0) earned his team-best sixth win in conference play, dealing 3.0 innings of scoreless relief. The right-hander allowed just one hit and punched out two batters. Clayton Freshcorn notched his ninth save of the season, closing the final 2.0 innings in scoreless fashion, adding a strikeout.
