Late Rally Pushes No. 7 Baseball Past Tarleton State, 9-7

The Aggies (34-8) were led offensively by Caden Sorrell who mashed two home runs on the evening, marking his fifth-multi homer game of the season.
Sorrell got the scoring started for the Aggies in the home half of the first, belting a 428-foot home run over the wall in left-center field.
The runs continued for Texas A&M in the second inning after Jorian Wilson came home on a passed ball and Boston Kellner hit a sacrifice fly to give the Aggies an early three run lead.
The Texans (28-16) responded in the fourth inning, plating five runs off four hits to claim the lead.
In the fifth inning, Sorrell smashed a no-doubt homer that left the bat at 114 miles per hour and traveled 446 feet to put the Aggies within one. Bear Harrison got in on the action with a solo shot of his own to dead center field to tie the game at five.
The Texans retook the lead in the sixth on an RBI double and an error, putting them up by two.
The Maroon & White responded in the bottom half of the frame to tie the game after Nico Partida laced a double to left-center field to bring two runners across the plate.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Aggies secured the lead after Sawyer Farr came home on a wild pitch. Partida added an insurance with his third hit of the night to plate Gavin Grahovac.
Juan Vargas worked 3.0 innings as the starter, allowing two runs off six hits. Grant Cunningham entered in relief, tossing 2.2 innings, allowing four runs on four hits and punching out three batters. Ethan Darden (4-0) followed, dealing 2.1 frames, allowing one unearned run, while securing the win. Clayton Freshcorn earned his 10th save of the season after tossing the final inning and striking out one batter.
